Yanick Fanton graduated in 2012 with a master’s degree in clinical and molecular sciences at Hasselt University, Belgium. She obtained a PhD on human cardiac stem cells for the treatment of myocardial infarction at Hasselt University and the Jessa Hospital. During her PhD, she completed the modules strategy, business HR and marketing of the post-graduate business management at the Hasselt University School of Expert Education. Stem cells and cell therapy development have been a central part of both her education and her first career experiences. Yanick joined Beta-Cell NV as a scientist in October 2016 and now leads the day-to-day activities of the research team as lab director.
